Selling the House

We listed the house around the second week of May, if I remember correctly.  Our goal had been to list in April, but things always take longer than planned.  After two days of being on the market we had an offer.  We didn't know what to think.  We knew it was a peak time of year for house shopping so we didn't know if we should bypass this offer to see if we would get any higher ones even though this offer really was quite good or if we should just move ahead and take it. We eventually bargained with them and everything fell into place.

I was telling someone how quickly we had sold it and he asked me if I thought the price was too low.  I told him no.  We had had some Realtors come through it that same week and they all thought we had listed the house too high, given the area and a few other things.  So the fact that we had a buyer very near our asking price was almost too good to be true.  I think we just happened to come on to the market at the right time and had a buyer that was looking in a very specific area and we just happened to meet all of his requirements and he was okay with our price.  Basically, I think we were lucky to have sold it for what we did.  We did buy at an ideal time, and that certainly makes all the difference, but I think our buyer was the perfect one for us.
